Art Enthusiasts

I am by any/all measures, strictly an amateur. I spent most of my adult life working for Duke University in the Department of Neurobiology. For several years I ran the department's electron microscopy facility. If you've seen black and white pictures of the insides of cells, those are the kind of images I took using an electron microscope. I also had access to a dark room where I printed pictures for publications in scientific journals. 

Many years ago, I played around with watercolors. After many years away from it, I picked it up again about eight or nine years ago.  I've taken some of the paintings and turned them into cards while I print and vie away. A few years ago, I moved from watercolor and now use acrylic, which I watered down a bit and paint on watercolor paper for the most part.  Acrylic gives me  a little more grace when it comes to painting over something you've already painted.
