Picture
This beginners intro to sewing class is suitable for boys or girls.  The recommended age is 7 and up. You know your child best, if they are a little younger but you feel they can handle it and have an interest, they are welcome to join.  A grown up MUST BE PRESENT during all sessions.

Campers will learn the parts of the sewing machine, learn about choosing fabric, learn how to properly cut fabric, hand sew as well as sew on a machine and will have several completed projects by the end of the week.

Campers will be responsible for bringing their own sewing machine.  **Machine must be in good working order** Please send the manual if you have it.  Please refer to the supplies list below for other items that campers are responsible for bringing.

Supply List:

For the Pillowcase:
  • 1 yard of cotton fabric (any print ~ for a pillow case)
  • all purpose thread to match the cotton fabric

For the water bottle holder:
  • 2 packs of fat quarters (coordinating colors and thread please)
  • roll of grosgrain ribbon (1 1/2 inch ribbon)

For the t-shirt skirt (or bag):

  • all purpose thread to match the color of the tshirt
  • 1 inch elastic (if making the skirt) OR 1 1/2 inch grosgrain ribbon (if making the bag)

For bandana pillow:
  • 2 bandanas (either the same color or coordinating colors)
  • 1 bag of fiber fill
  • thread to match the bandanas
